This policy explains how I collect and use personal information through kaleelzibe.com and related services, including my mailing list, online shop and social media accounts.

Who I am

This website is run by Kaleel Zibe, a sole trader based in Northumberland, England, trading as Kaleel Zibe Music and Wild Leopard Films. I am the data controller for the personal information described here.

You can contact me about anything in this policy at privacy@kaleelzibe.com.

Information collected automatically, only if you agree to it through the cookie banner: details of how you use the website, such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at the site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies from analytics and advertising providers. You can read more in my Cookie Policy and change your choices at any time using the consent settings on the site.

Payment details are handled directly by the payment provider used at checkout. I never see or store your full card details.

Who I share it with

I use trusted third-party service providers to run my business. These may change over time, but they fall into these categories:

  • website hosting, security and maintenance providers
  • e-commerce and payment providers
  • email marketing platforms
  • messaging and automation tools connected to my social media accounts
  • analytics and advertising providers
  • delivery and postal services, for physical orders
  • professional advisers such as accountants, and banking providers
  • government bodies such as HMRC, or others where the law requires it

Service providers acting for me may only use your information to provide their service to me. Some providers, such as social media and advertising platforms, also use information for their own purposes under their own privacy policies.

I do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, or store data outside it. Where that happens, I rely on the legal safeguards available under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard data protection contract terms.

How long I keep it

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
  • Orders and financial records: for as long as tax law requires, normally six years.
  • Enquiries and other correspondence: for as long as needed to deal with them and any follow-up, then deleted when no longer needed.
  • Analytics data: in line with the retention settings of the analytics service used.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
  • ask me to correct anything inaccurate
  • ask me to delete your information
  • ask me to restrict or stop using it, or object to how it’s used
  • ask for your information in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time where I rely on it

To use any of these rights, contact me at privacy@kaleelzibe.com. I’ll respond within one month.

Security

I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and I only use reputable service providers. No website or online service can be guaranteed completely secure, however.

Children

This website isn’t aimed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about how I handle your information, please contact me first and I’ll do my best to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on +44 303 123 1113.
